Driving Licence Renewal in Any Emirate
Adel Arafah for KHALEEJ TIMES 4 November 2008
ABU DHABI - Emiratis and expats can from January next year, get their driving licences renewed at any licencing department in the UAE, regardless of the place of issue of the licence or the place where the residence visa was issued, Col. Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director of the Traffic Department in the Ministry of Interior, told Khaleej Times.
“Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, had ordered for technical and administrative measures to speed up the implementation of the new service,” he said.
“The new service will help ease difficulties being faced by residents who filed complaints about hurdles faced by them,” Col Zaabi said. “At present applications for renewal of licences are rejected by a traffic department if visa is issued in another emirate.”
