Abu Dhabi/Dubai: The world's largest and record breaking fireworks display will light up the Abu Dhabi sky on December 2.

The fireworks display is part of a line-up of events organised by the Emirates Palace to celebrate the 37th National Day of UAE.

The fireworks will begin at 20.30 hrs lasting for 45 minutes, and will be visible along the Abu Dhabi Corniche and across the Emirates Palace Marina, said a statement from the Emirates Palace.

The hotel also announced a breathtaking colourful line up of entertaining cultural, musical and artistic events in celebration of the UAE's 37th National Day.

On the eve of National Day, December 1, a unique laser show will light up the night sky commencing at 18:00hrs. The show will run every evening until December 3.


Recognising the achievements of the founding father of the nation late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, The Emirates Palace's Dome will be hosting an exclusive public showing of an original painting of Shaikh Zayed by Roland Van Merbeck. The work will be on display until December 4.

Time to Shine Abu Dhabi Vision to Reality painting and photography exhibition will be staged from today through December 4.

Taking the essence of the glorious day, the Emirates Palace will be displaying UAE's biggest Greeting Card, a 7.5-metre-high Card in the Dome.

Abu Dhabi Arts Culture and Heritage (ADACH) will be organising a series of national concerts in the West Park over the period December 2-4, featuring celebrated artists such as Mohammad Abdo, Elissa, Hussain Al Jasmy and Ahlam together with some of the most popular Arabic singers.

The Emirates Investments Group is sponsoring an event at the University of Sharjah's Community College today in accordance with His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.

The event will include a display by a military marching band, a poetry recital, screening of films on UAE history, traditional dances, horse riding, and a falcon show and the venue will offer traditional shops selling souvenirs, a henna corner and traditional coffee.

The Abu Dhabi Transportation Department will provide a complimentary shuttle bus service to take music fans at the national day free-to-attend concerts being staged in at the Emirates Palace Garden.

Free-to-attend concerts will also be staged in Al Ain, in the desert setting of Bida Bint Saoud with seating for 2,500, and at the Cultural Centre in Bida Zayed in Al Gharbia which can accommodate 1,500.

Dubai Festival City will host a Heritage Zone and feature kiosks displaying various arts and crafts. Three local bands will perform traditional music for visitors.
