L&T forms JV to build Oman refinery equipment factory

MUMBAI: Indian engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro said on Saturday a joint venture firm had signed a deal with Oman's Sohar Industrial Port Company to set up an equipment manufacturing plant in Oman.
Larsen & Toubro Heavy Engineering LLC, a joint venture between Larsen and Oman's Zubair Corp, signed an agreement on Friday for the project which will involve an initial spend of $50 million, the Indian firm said in a statement.
The new unit will make equipment for refineries, petrochemicals, fertiliser and other processing industries, it said.
